Steve and Nancy Schrimsher own the 44 DeFever, Salty Turtle, and are members of DeFever Cruisers, so many forum readers may already know them. Many may also know that they do excellent canvas work. Nevertheless, they just finished extensive work on my own 44, Isolde III, and I want to add my own personal "highest rating" recommendation. The workmanship is first rate, and they're knowledgeable about design and great to deal with.

The shop, Schrimsher Yacht Canvas (772-334-9989)is located in Stuart, FL . And, as I walked the docks upon arrival, lotsa their happy, local customers were anxious to show me samples of their work. They replaced Isolde III's bimini and full fly-bridge enclosure, reupholstered the captain's chair, made 8 new fly-bridge cushions, and 4 more for the aft deck seats -- I couldn't be more pleased.

Steve and I would second that "emotion" having had the Schrimshers replace nearly all of our canvas as well as the cockpit extension cover with stamoid not to mention having new sail panels made for the top deck enclosure. They tweaked the frame for our bimini to make a better fit and their workmanship and timeliness were a welcome experience in this marine industry where things don't always turn out like you expected! We would highly recommend them as well.
